In her later years, Janet Cumbrae Stewart seemed to draw inspiration from her past in this work, possibly influenced by memories of her friend or partner Alice, whom she had depicted in an earlier work. The artwork evokes a sense of nostalgia, hinting at a reflective return to a previous work titled "Sweet Alice," which is mentioned in the reference below. Further research is needed.
