Description:

In 1982, this artwork was acquired directly from the artist at his home in Northwood, NSW. The subject, David, was drawn at McMahon’s Point, Sydney. Lloyd developed the rolling pencil technique between 1932 and 1936. According to Lloyd, this technique was used on a portrait for the first time.

Given its age, the Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation has undertaken extensive preventive care; condition reports are available upon request.
