This artwork by Roland Wakelin was acquired by Kurt Barry of Barry’s Art Gallery, Gold Coast, Queensland, from the sale of all remaining works left by the artist at the request of his wife, Estelle Wakelin. The sitter in the portrait is unknown, but it is believed to be a portrait commission for a retiring Sydney Catholic School Principal.
